In 2004 Dynamit Nobel Defence GmbH has acquired all defence activities at the Wuergendorf site (near Siegen, Germany) from Dynamit Nobel GmbH Explosivstoff- und Systemtechnik and continues this company's 50 year tradition in rockets & rocket motors, warheads and shoulder-fired anti-armour weapons.
When hearing the name "Dynamit Nobel", many people initially think of explosives. In 1865 Alfred Nobel founded "Alfred Nobel & Co" and the Company manufactured a safety explosive Dynamite invented by him and gained him worldwide recognition.
This was one of the first milestones in the history of Dynamit Nobel Defence. The subsequent successful advance of this innovation was and remains typical of our philosophy to create markets with innovations.
